The Head quilt

My latest head quilt is now finished. It is a sample for a class next year at the quilters symposium in July. I am thinking of calling it "I don't like Mondays" and then doing 6 more the same size for the other days of the week, all with titles from songs. Just an idea but it may come to something! who knows.

The exhibition has been going really well, lots of people coming to see it, and lots of nice comments.

There are 2 articles about pieces from the exhibition in the latest NZ Quilter which is great. Its so nice to have other people like your work.

latest doll

This is Annie. She is the latest addition to my pattern collection. I haven't done a new doll for a while and thought it was about time. She is pretty cool I think, I have almost finished the pattern so it should be available from the weekend at All Things Patchwork.I asked her if she wanted a boy doll to go with her but she said no thank you!

I have decided to try and get my patterns to a wider market, so today I am posting some Info to a couple of shops in Oz that I like the look of and see how we go. I am even thinking of doing a trade show at some point, maybe next year. Got to save the money first!

I will be at the Gala day at the Waimauku shops on Saturday, I will be sitting in my exhibition so anyone is welcome to call in and say Hi and have a chat about the work. Lots of people have come to see the show which is great, I hope you have all been inspired to stitch more!

Challenging week

This was the latest challenge fabric from the Colour Quarterly group I belong to. It was a real challenge to make a successful piece of work. I decided to do another curved piece to add to my teaching samples when I teach the 'All about curves' class. I made a collection of blocks with curves in them and then spent Sunday rearranging all the block until I came up with a lay out I was happy with.

It now has to be quilted, I have till early June so plenty of time, I just needed to get it off my list of things to do.

I hung my exhibition yesterday at All Things Patchwork. It looks pretty good considering it in hung in the classroom. I have a few finishing touches to do today then it will be all done. It is open until the 20th of April and I will be in the shop all day on April 14th to talk to people about the work.
