30/100 Bag moths

I love the selvedge from colourful fabrics, so I used one I had saved for todays bag moth.

I have just finished these boys. I started them when I was guest artist last year for the Hamilton craft fair, not like me to take so long to finish something but all done now, I think I will call it ' Waiting', they certainly had to wait a long time to get hats!

29/100 Bag Moths

Another wire bag, this time I covered the wire with the selvedge cut off of a long strip of fabric.

28/100 Bag Moths

I think this is my favourite so far, a spiral of wire and some thread. I think I will do another one with wire tomorrow when I have more time. I love the shadow on the wall too, I am starting to think shadows are pretty interesting.

I was interviewed today by a lovely lady who is writing a book about women's creative spaces, lucky the studio was still tidy after the weekend!

27/100 Bag Moths

My bag moths are starting to get a bit bigger, this one is strips of silk fabric sewn together.

Art Weekend

Our Helensville Arts in the Ville weekend went really well, lots of happy people around town and visiting the studios. We are already planning how we can improve for next year.

The only thing that spoiled the weekend was that someone helped themselves to our sign, maybe they had such a good time that they wanted to remember it!! or maybe they were just *******

Just an update on the sign, Kit went to look for it and found it thrown in the ditch just up the road. All there, just pulled apart a bit.

26/100 Bag Moths

Really fast bag today, made from a left over Arts in the Ville map.

The bag moths so far, I am running out of room so need to think if a better place to display them. I am thinking of putting up a string a pegging them on like bunting.

24/100 Bag moths and a tidy studio

Vintage fabric bag moth

Quilts in the lounge, my children have been doing the limbo under the quilts all morning!

I can't believe I can see the floor of my studio! Today was a great success, lots of people about being inspired which is great. Already planning for next year. 2 more days if you come and see my tidy studio.

Friday 23 October 2015

23/100 bag moths

This is a rolled up strip I trimmed off some laminating. The disc shape on the front is a blob of hot glue to hold the roll together, looks a bit like glass.

Helensville has been yarn bombed and is ready for a fun weekend. I am up early tomorrow putting up arrows and one last fabric sign. I will try to take some pictures. The studio is just about ready and the lounge has been taken over by quilts and embroidery. I am very lucky to have such an understanding family!

Thread wrapped around batting today, I really like the threads sticking out.

I will make my weekend bag moths while I am away and post them when I get back. Still not techie enough to be mobile, but thinking about it which I guess is a start!
